LaserERP LaserSocial

The product is the quoting and shop management. This is one feature inside it — start with LaserERP.

A trade board for the shops
already running LaserERP

LaserSocial is a trade board shared by the shops running LaserERP. Ask why your 16 gauge is snapping back, sell the brake you stopped using, argue about nitrogen pressure — with people who'll actually know the answer.

What's on it

Four rooms,
one trade

No algorithm deciding what you see, no strangers, no outrage. Just the shops that bought the same software you did, talking about the work.

Shop talk

The feed

Posts sorted by topic, so a nesting question doesn't get buried under supplier gripes.

  • General shop talk
  • Technical — machines, settings, fixtures
  • Materials — stock and suppliers
  • Tips — things that worked
  • Software — LaserERP itself
Buy and sell

Classifieds

Equipment moving between shops that know what it's worth, instead of a dealer's markup.

  • Machinery
  • Tooling
  • Material — offcuts and remnants
  • Services — overflow capacity
  • Wanted

The rules

Stated up front,
enforced on sight

You accept these when you join, and they're shown again every time you post. Anyone can report anything, and a moderator can still read what came down.

01

This is a trade board. Laser, fabrication, machining and the industry around them — nothing else.

02

No personal or family content of any kind. No photographs of children, ever.

03

Don't post anything a customer gave you in confidence: their drawings, their prices, their names.

04

Other shops here are your competitors. Assume everything you write is read by them.

05

Classifieds are for equipment, tooling, material and services. Not for anything else.

06

Disagree about process all you like. Abuse gets you removed.

What stays private

Your shop's data
never crosses over

Every other table in LaserERP is invisible between shops. This one is deliberately the opposite — so the wall between them is built to be checked.

Nothing is copied in
Not a job, not a customer, not a price. Your shop appears on the board only because a person sat down and typed something.
Joining is opt-in
Per person, and it records that they accepted the rules. Having a LaserERP account does not put you on the board.
You choose the name
A display name and a shop label you set yourself. Your email, your customer list and your shop's real record are never exposed.
Removed, not deleted
A takedown is a flag. A moderator needs to be able to read what was reported after it comes down — otherwise reports are unanswerable.
Files are checked
Four per post, 5 MB each, and no executable ever gets through. A board where one shop hands another a file is exactly where a stray installer does damage.

Administrator controls

Nothing here happens
outside your view

The honest objection to putting a social feed inside shop software is that people will stand at a machine reading it. So the administrator holds every lever: who gets on, when it opens, how long they get, and a full record of what was used and said.

Switch it off for the whole shop and it's gone. Leave it on and you choose which employees get access, which hours it opens, and how many minutes a day each person gets. When someone's time is up, the board closes and the job list doesn't.

  • Every minute is counted Time on the board is recorded per person, per day, and kept for thirty days. It's logged against the badge that opened it — not a shared shop login — so the report says who, not just how much.
  • There are no private messages The board has no inbox and no direct messages, by design. Every post and every reply is written in the open under the member's name and shop label. There is no channel on it your people can talk in that you cannot read.
  • Nothing comes down quietly A removed post is flagged, never deleted, and stays readable to moderators with who removed it and when. Anyone can report anything, and the report keeps the original text attached to it.
  • Access is a list you keep Employees are switched on one at a time, and switched off the same way. Revoke someone at 9am and they are off the board at 9am, without touching their ERP login.

Getting on it

It comes with the software

LaserSocial is included on every LaserERP plan at no extra cost. Start a trial, and if you want the board, switch it on and join from inside the app.
